ART: “Boys Will Be Boys” by AdeY Creates “a Non-Sexualised and Open-Minded Representation of Humankind”.
Drawing on their background in performance, choreography and contemporary dance, AdeY’s latest work is an exploration of balance, strength and physics.
“Boys Will Be Boys” features human bodies in their purest forms- naked, vulnerable and integrated into nature. According to the artist’s rationale, “the work seeks to create a non-sexualised and open-minded representation of humankind, which is based on a dream of acceptance”.
But there is another layer to the work: “With a humorous and experimental approach, [AdeY] seeks to highlight our vulnerability, loneliness, and strengths, whilst capturing those little moments of social oppression, isolation, anxiety, and depression that appear to play a central role in the human condition”.
“Boys Will Be Boys” by AdeY is online on BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! until 5 February at boysboysboys.org
